Community for Coastal & Cassowary Conservation
At C4, we are committed to protecting and restoring the Cassowary Coast’s unique biodiversity by safeguarding critical habitats, promoting sustainable practices, and empowering our community to take action. Through education, conservation, and strong partnerships, we work to preserve our vital ecosystems—especially those that sustain the endangered Southern Cassowary.

The Community for Coastal and Cassowary Conservation represents a powerful legacy of grassroots environmental action.
The roots of C4 began in the late 1980s and early 1990s with the mutually-aligned efforts of several local conservation groups, including the Wildlife Preservation Society Queensland (WPSQ) and the Movement for Responsible Coastal Development (MRCD).
Our mission has always been to protect and conserve our coastal and rainforest habitats, along with the plants and animals that thrive in them.
C4 proudly respects the Djiru people, the Traditional Owners of the land, and works hard to protect the Cassowary Coast by balancing conservation and responsible development for future generations..
We care about conservation
Written, Directed, Produced by Oliver Gamblin and Lavinya Scholl, this documentary “Saving the Dinosaur Bird – Replanting the Rainforest” features the conservation work of C4.
