Welcome Back, Buckeyes! Ohio State University Returns to C4

Today, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming students from Ohio State University to C4 and Mission Beach for a lively morning of biodiversity exploration and environmental learning.

Our nature walks were nothing short of adventurous — starting in the littoral rainforest, then winding our way through C4’s living tree museum (our arboretum), and continuing through the coastal vine forests. Along the way, students collected examples of cassowary fruits and discussed how habitat types connect across the landscape.

We finished at the beach, where the group learned about weed management strategies in fragile ecosystems — and enjoyed a taste of the tropics with at least one freshly harvested coconut.

The group was fun, curious, and ready to learn — asking thoughtful questions and embracing the experience with open minds. It’s inspiring to share this special place with future environmental leaders from around the world. Thanks again to Ohio State University for spending your morning with us — we hope to see you back in cassowary country soon!
