On Clean Up Australia Day this year, the Mission Beach community once again came together at Clump Point to care for one of our most important coastal areas. Volunteers of all ages rolled up their sleeves and spent the morning collecting rubbish along the shoreline and surrounding areas.
Thanks to the fantastic effort from everyone who attended, around 70 kgs of rubbish was removed, preventing it from entering our oceans and waterways.
This clean-up has become a much-loved annual tradition at Clump Point, and it was wonderful to see so many locals continuing the effort. A special highlight each year is the number of kids who get involved, helping protect the place they call home while learning about caring for the environment.
A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day a success. Every bag of rubbish removed makes a difference for our beaches, wildlife and waterways.
