Much of the important habitat in and around Mission Beach is on privately owned land. What happens on these properties has a big influence on how well our local environment functions, particularly for wildlife movement, forest recovery and long-term resilience.
As some of our current restoration projects near completion, we’re actively looking for new areas where revegetation can make a real difference. Specifically, we’re interested in patches of previously cleared or degraded land that could be restored back to functional habitat. This might be small or large areas, and it might sit alongside existing forest, creeks or known wildlife corridors.
We’re also hearing from landholders who are curious about emerging carbon and biodiversity credit markets but aren’t sure where to start or whether their land is suitable. This is something we can help assess and talk through, alongside revegetation outcomes that prioritise habitat and long-term environmental benefit.
We’re keen to have early conversations with landholders and community members who are thinking about restoration, land management changes, or land that may be available for conservation purchase. These discussions help us understand what’s possible and where collaborative projects could take shape.
