Work at Gurrbum Nature Refuge is moving ahead strongly this month, with vital upgrades and monitoring helping to support future conservation efforts.
With funding from the Australian and Queensland Government (Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation), the access road into the refuge has now been restored. This improvement is more than just a convenience, it allows machinery and vehicles to reach upcoming planting sites and ensures that ongoing maintenance work can continue safely and efficiently.
The C4 team also took the opportunity to monitor earlier plantings across the refuge. We were encouraged to see healthy growth in the revegetation areas first established in 2019, with young trees showing strong progress and creating valuable habitat for local wildlife.
